We are committed to providing the highest level of professionalism in developing youth and high level basketball players and want to take a moment to share with you some of the inspiration for starting Team Concept here in the San Fernando and Conejo Valley region.

At Team Concept, we believe first and foremost, that youth boys and girls who enjoy the game and want to excel must dedicate themselves to learning and mastering the fundamentals. At all levels, from beginner to professional, the ability to consistently execute the fundamentals at game speed is what determines a player?s individual success, and ultimately, enhances their enjoyment of the game.

So often, we see high school players who are missing many of the key fundamentals necessary to be highly successful. At the youth levels, so little time is spent on teaching basic skills and the reality is that a couple hours of practice and 1-2 games a week a few months out of the year, is not necessarily the best formula for future basketball success.

One of our primary goals is to raise the entire level of play for competitive youth and high school players in the area by providing a fun, challenging, systematic and yet creative, individual and team development program. There are many good club basketball programs that try to recruit the best talent and then head directly in to competition. We feel that Team Concept not only provides great competitive opportunities for advanced players, it also provides much needed year-round player development for players of all levels, ultimately leading to long-term success that prepares them to play for any coach at any level.

Looking back, two things about our experiences playing the game of basketball stand out most and fuel our continued commitment to successfully teaching this game to young players. First, is our passion for the game. And second, are the people the game brings in to our lives.

The passion for the game?the joy of honing and displaying our skills, the nervous, yet exciting energy of game time, the challenge of performing to the best of your ability and going after a victory, the rush of a cheering crowd?these are the things that energized us as players and make us want to share our knowledge and experience. We feel that a player?s interest in the game turns to dedication when they develop their skills and confidence.

The people the game brings in to our lives?all we have to do is look around and we see how many good relationships this game has enabled us to develop. These relationships mean so much to us and we hope those who join Team Concept have the opportunity to form lasting relationships through a shared passion.
