We are impressed with the progress our daughter has made with Team Concept in such a short time. The individual attention that Conley and Dimitri have given her is amazing. They have truly made a difference in her game.

I just wanted to thank you for all the great coaching you have taught me over the past few months. If you haven't already heard I made the JV team, and I am so glad that I was able to get your help before I went to High School. You really taught me a lot and I hope I will continue to work with you. Thanks again!!

Team Concept has been a great experience for my daughter Nikki. All of you are very knowledgeable coaches and it shows with the improvement of all the girls. The ones that have been with you the longest have become very good players, congrats. No other program offers as much opportunity for players to improve and learn. Thank You for all of your hard work it is truly appreciated.

As a parent that has mentored thousands of art students over 26 years, I searched out for the same type of mentor for my daughters’ passion in basketball. A true mentor focuses on the fundamentals needed to allow the student a solid future in their chosen discipline. When my daughter, Sasha started with Team Concept (formerly the Basketball Institute with Lindsay Strothers), she had an interest in basketball; we feel that Team Concept turned that interest into a romance and love. Sasha’s love for basketball is so focused on the fundamentals that we take great pride in watching her execute the true meaning of the game, not just the win.
Team Concept is a professional run organization, practices are well organized and consistent, and they also allow the kids to have fun while learning. We now have two daughters involved with Team Concept. We are looking forward to watching our younger daughter, Shaunna, spend the necessary time on the fundamentals of dribbling, passing and shooting (both with her left and right hand), using the proper shooting form and footwork, and working on offense and defense. We are very excited to be watching Shaunna grow and develop into a quality basketball player.
Conley Oliver and Dimitri Hodgkinson spend the time necessary to answer my daughters’ questions and improve their skill level and game. They both focus on the individual in a light and fun manner. We say that hands down Team Concept has the best girl’s basketball program around!

I have been a part of Team Concept (formerly The Basketball Institute with Lindsay Strothers) for over four years. When I started clinics I was only 10 years old. I knew how to dribble down the court and shoot, but not the right way. I was unable to execute a simple right hand lay-up. It took me months of slow repetition, walking through the steps to finally understand the proper foot work.
For many years I’ve participated in clinics and worked out with other girls three years older than me. I loved it! The age difference didn’t matter, because I was working on my skills and fundamentals, just like them. All of the fundamentals are the same from the beginning player through the advanced player. It doesn’t matter how skilled you are, the fundamentals never change.
Because my main focus for over three years was fundamentals, not games or tournaments; I’m able to execute skills on the court easier with confidence and great ease. Constantly working on my dribbling and shooting (right & left hand) with the proper form has taken me to another level. I continue to work hard and practice, but I can never think that I am done learning. Conley and Dimitri are always there for me, taking the extra time to help me correct my form in shooting or learn new footwork to drive by my opponent on the court. I’m glad that I focused more on the fundamentals for so long, than on playing the game. My game now will be better for it. As I get physically stronger I must learn to adjust my shooting. There is always something to work on or adjust in my game. If I continue to work hard and practice with Conley and Dimitri, I will get closer to my personal goals. Though I am starting high school, I am not done learning from these great mentors and friends.
I look forward to my time working with Conley and Dimitri and anyone else that wants to play basketball with us. Remember, it’s not about the win; but about the fundamentals you use on the court. This is why I have been with Team Concept so long!
